A big thank you to all of you who turned out on our first Ashford RAT/Shop ride out of the season. We had 29 bikes in total join us for the breakfast run from the shop to the Cliff top Cafe in Caple le Fern near Folkestone.
An early start with temperatures hovering around 5 degrees did not stop you all meeting Paul, Dean and myself at the shop at 9 in the morning. After a quick coffee and a discrete road closure (thanks Del) we headed off for a short but playful ride through the Kent countryside, along the A20 then of course up the not so popular Farm lane over looking the Channel, Folkestone and the Channel Tunnel Rail Terminal. Some more “Green Laneing” followed before arriving at the Café just outside Folkstone.
A warm welcome from the owner Pete, and a hot cuppa soon defrosted us before a hearty breakfast over looking the Channel, It's a lovely spot. If you were lucky to be one of the last ones away you would have seen the Spitfire in action flanked by 2 Helicopters; apparently a common sight from the Café and close by Spitfire Memorial.
Thanks again to all of you for coming. We certainly enjoyed it and I promise the next one will avoid any roads with grass and mud running down the middle.
