Yamaha R1 wins MCN Reader's poll
The Yamaha R1 was introduced in the late 90s setting standards of vast power and speed. The 2009 model has since come far from the original model, whilst running a new Big Bang Firing Order making the machine sound like a V4. Coming in at number 1, the Yamaha R1 wins with an overall score of 90%.
Top Ten Yamahas as voted by the readers of MCN...
The Yamaha R1 scored an impressive 90% as voted for by MCN readers. The Yamaha FJR1300 ('01-Present) scored an impressive 89% in the reader's vote 
and is the reader's top choice for a Yamaha Touring bike. The Yamaha FZS1000 Fazer('00-'05) also made the leaderboard. An excellent all-round bike, it does a lot of jobs and exceptionally well. Of course, the Top Ten leaderboard would not be complete without the R1s baby brother, the R6. The R6 scored 86% in its overall performance ratings. This born and bred sports bike has dominated the 600 class sportsbike for over a decade and still remains one of the best mid range sports bike.
