The Role

Laguna Motorcycles Limited is the largest motorcycle dealer in the South-East of England.  

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar position or have a multi-trade background with ‘hands-on’ experience of working in a diverse environment. They will need a proactive approach to work to ensure our dealer stores are suitably maintained to our high standards. They will be friendly and approachable with a ‘can do’ attitude and be prepared to see problems through until they are fixed.

What You’ll Do:

• Carry out a variety of planned and reactive building maintenance tasks, which will be varied in nature and will include general building, joinery, tiling, painting, paving and external works, drainage works and plumbing.

• Maintain the decoration of our seven dealer stores.

• Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls, replacing light bulbs, etc.

• Install appliances and equipment.

• Undertake general facilities support tasks, including furniture building and furniture removals, grounds and site clearance and keeping areas clean and tidy.

• Maintain grass areas (cutting grass/tree branches), clearing leaves, gritting paths, and car parks, ensuring all garden equipment is maintained.

• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems

• Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm, etc.)

• Monitor and work with contractors to ensure their tasks are completed as per requirements

• To assist and support other trades as and when required.

• Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations

• Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Manual handling and lifting of heavy items.

We’re Looking For:

• Solid experience in maintenance, building, DIY, plumbing, and electrical repairs.

• Very hands-on, self-motivated, with a proactive approach to maintenance.

• Ability to complete tasks within an agreed timescale, to exceptional standards, whilst working under minimal supervision.

• Ability to use common hand tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, and electrical tools.

• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings

• Very good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Physical stamina and agility.

• Being reliable with a keen eye for detail.

• Hold a current full driving licence and your own vehicle.

• City & Guilds plumbing, joinery, electrical, decorating, or other recognised trade qualification. (Desirable not essential).

Candidates must be physically able to carry out relatively hazardous tasks (e.g. working at height), manual handling,

and may also be required to attend the site in an emergency out of hours.

You must also be willing to commute to our seven stores using your own vehicle.  You will also have use of our company commercial vehicle:

Salary: from £11.58 per hour (depending on experience)
