Immaculate paint for an immaculate motorcycle
In celebration of 120 years of Triumph Motorcycles, we teamed up with the custom paint kings and queens over at Image Design Custom to transform one of our new Rocket 3 R models into something truly one-of-a-kind. The result? A completely unique and breathtaking custom muscle cruiser that exceeded all expectations.

What was the process?
(Total time of painting was between 3.5 - 4 days)
The rocket was shipped straight over to Image Design Custom where it was first sanded back and primed with a high build primer. Once it was cured the bike was sanded back to a smooth state ready for the base colouring and design to follow. The first base colour was painted Crystal White, the white was then masked off using special fine line tapes that create a nice clean paint edge, after that it was time for Gold then finally Black.
Once all paints were applied to the complete kit, the bodywork was then demasked and the silver flag detailing was added to the white parts of the tank. The Triumph logos were then airbrushed over the top in various areas through the paint masks. At this stage, the panels are ready for the first hit of clearcoat lacquer - once the lacquer has been baked off in the spray booth and cured, the bike is sanded back to take back any additional paint edges, leaving a smooth level surface.
After smoothing is complete, the final touches are made to seal the deal on this sweet ride. Once some small touch-ups are done the bike is ready for another 3-4 layers of lacquer. The bike is once again cured, polished and wrapped ready for shipping.
