To push gender equality further in what has mainly been a male-dominated industry, Honda UK is taking an active role in supporting women within motorcycling. To do this they teamed up with the second Women in Motorcycling Exhibition event which was based at the historic grounds of Tutbury Castle. This event celebrates women in the motorcycling world and consists of inspirational speakers, pannels at which guests can ask questions, workshops to learn new skills and more!
Honda supported the event in lots of ways including offering demo rides across an extensive range of bikes including the CRF1100L Africa Twin, Rebel 500 & 1100 (with DCT), CB500F, the award-winning CB500X and Neo Sport CB1000R to name just a few.
Scroll down to get a taste of the conversations taking place at this event and how you can attend the next one...
Leading the conversation is Leona Graham (Absolute Radio), a daily Central London commuter currently riding an NC750X DCT. Leona is teaming up with social influencer Ruby Rides a Digital Creator currently riding a Ninja H2, S1000RR HP4 and RSV4 1100. Also joining the talks is Kenndréa Evans who is at the other end of her motorcycling career, having just passed her CBT in spring this year she has yet to pass the 400 mile mark on her faithful CB125F.
Together the trio discuss their unique experiences and views on the motorcycle world, answer questions and generally talk bikes for a while. With this fantastic panel there were lots of interesting conversations, like how Kenndréa was encouraged to pursue her riding after being told "you could never do it" by her teenage son. Ruby also discusses sexism and how social normalities can influence the way society views female bikers.
With lots of great conversation between the panel and audience combined, this event pursues a fantastic view of women within the industry.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a lender on our panel, which includes lenders of vehicle manufacturers. We have commercial arrangements with lenders and credit brokers which are likely to influence who we introduce you to. We are not an independent financial adviser and don’t give you any advice or recommendations. It is your choice whether you enter into any finance agreement. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked to the franchise offering you the vehicle. They will usually offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions (but we do not guarantee they do). If they are unable to offer finance, we then seek to introduce you to someone else on our panel. We will usually receive a commission for your introduction. This will be either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you choose. Lenders of vehicle manufacturers may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will tell you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receiving this commission. The exact amount of commission will be confirmed before you sign your finance agreement.
All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over.
