Our eCommerce Manager, Tim, recently had his FIRST EVER experience on a Harley-Davidson®!
Tim kindly documented his experience of renting a Harley® from us, PLUS, as a result of his experience, we've created a turn-by-turn recommended ride route through Sussex for those of you who fancy riding Tim's route, on your own bike or on one of our Harley-Davidson® authorized rentals - for which 2022 bookings are now open!...
"I needed a good reason to get a friend back on a bike - and what better way than to book out a few Harley®'s for the day, riding around with a couple of buddies, enjoying our amazing country, (and its varying weather), while having a fantastic time.
I had never ridden a Harley® before, neither had one of the other riders, Adam, but our mutual friend, Andy, who we had organised the day for was a Harley® fan and has always been on two wheels from as early as he can remember - but has had a few years off for various reasons. Anyway...we thought it was about time he scratched that itch again!"
"We took out a mix of bikes including a Heritage Classic, a Street Bob® with a very nice sounding Vance and Hines exhaust and a Fat Boy® which looked and sounded awesome. We rocked up at the dealership and Sarah sorted out the paperwork as quickly as possible to get us out on the bikes. She did a walkaround of the bikes with us and got us on the road... at which point the heavens opened! The forecast suggested it might miss us on our planned route, but sadly not! This was biblical-level rain... roads turned to rivers, etc. It may have literally dampened everything we were wearing, but not our spirits as we headed towards our first stop and breakfast in Rye.
Rye is a lovely quiet coastal town and regularly host to many bike groups as they stop for a brew and a bite to eat whilst out enjoying the twists and turns of some great roads on the south coast of Kent and Sussex. However because of the weather it was just three Harley®'s roaring into town so far on that day, but we did our best to fill the town with the sound of bikes! We stopped in the harbour for a fry up, tea and a warmup. Once warm again, and after eaating our own weight in breakfast, we were off again towards Hastings and beyond."
"We passed through Hastings and headed inland to go around Bexhill and decided to stop for a coffee in Battle, a quiet little place…until we arrived anyway. We parked up, hopped off the bikes, had a little photo shoot and chat about the bikes then grabbed a coffee.
We had just walked back to the bikes when Zeus decided to unleash more rain of biblical proportions, but we managed to find somewhere to hide and enjoyed people watching as they ran around trying to stay dry. Eventually the sun put his hat on and came out to play for the rest of the day. We took a roundabout route to Beachy Head, did the touristy thing for a bit, took some more photos and talked about the bikes some more before taking a rambling route back to Maidstone through the High Weald Area of Natural Beauty.
It was a fantastic day, we all enjoyed the bikes immensely and it is fair to say that there is nothing quite like riding a Harley.
The day was also a definite success in tempting Andy back onto a bike, so win win!"

We can introduce you to a selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. An introduction to a lender does not amount to independent financial advice and we act as their agent for this introduction. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next best offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure the best deal you are eligible for from our panel of lenders. Lenders may pay a fixed commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you ask us what the amount of commission is, we will tell you in good time before the Finance agreement is executed. All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18’s or over. Guarantees may be required.
